  1. Oh my goodness, you’re back in town?!! I absolutely must come and see you, tho I’ll have to quietly slip in the back a little late as I’ll be working on my painting, soon to be finished and magnificent! As is Red Vienna! Much love to you and Tom! ^j^

    • Hi Jo. I’m in Pleasanton now and will be here till
the end of July. I’m coming down to SLO from Wednesday to Sunday this week for the book talk. What are you painting this time? I wish I could see it. Anyhow, I’m looking forward to seeing you at the talk!

      • Here’s my current painting, 30”x40”.  I think it’s complete except for the rocks around the base of the tree. Peop

  2. Brava Eve! Wow! So proud of your accomplishment!

I will try to tune in.

  3. Hello EveAn exciting week for you! I wasn’t able to get your book on Amazon after all. They refunded me. Is there any chance you could get me a copy, please? Have a good dayLoveJanet

    • That happened to me too, Janet, though I was able to get a copy on Amazon.co.uk (not cheap with all the fees). I’ll put aside a copy for you.
      xoxo Eve

      • Thank you Eve and all the best for your meetings with readers.Xx

  4. I very much look forward to your talk about what has truly been a most absorbing read! One thing many readers of historical novels in general, and yours in particular, are likely to wonder about is to what extent the various characters are modeled on “real” people known either through historical documents or family stories, and to what extent they are created just like the characters in any other novel. One character about whom I hope to learn more is Edith, who does have presence in history as well as in your book, and yet I feel she is so much like the late Joe Schwartz in her approach to photography and social responsibility that perhaps the author’s experience of knowing Joe helped make her character more vivid in “Red Vienna.” I look forward to learning more about her life journey in subsequent volumes!

    • Hi Eric. Those are some of the things I plan to talk about on Friday. Edith is indeed an interesting character and the parallels to Joe’s vision are real. The best source I’ve found on her is the video at the bottom of my blog about her. I wish it had been available before I wrote the book. It’s well worth watching.

      • Thank you for the advice to look up the film about Edith! On your blog, one can watch a trailer from Vimeo about a film, and next to the trailer when I play it here is a note stating that the film is unavailable in my area. If you know a secret place to find it, there are probably many of us in Friday’s audience who would love to know! By the way, I gave away the copy of Red Vienna that I had first acquired, so if you could have another with you Friday, I’d be delighted to purchase it there. If not, I’ll understand, but I know it takes a while to get one delivered, unless you know of a place where it can be purchased retail along the Central Coast at this point. It is definitely a treasure that one feels almost an urgency about spreading around, given how it resonates with the times we are living through!

  5. Eve! I am so enjoying reading Red Vienna! I will try to catch you on Dave Congalton’s show. So happy for you! Judy B.

  6. Eve, this is so cool! I’ll try to listen to the interview; I know you’ll be a delight to hear. How long do you stay in the US? Wanna talk sometime?
